In short

NannyLog lets nannies and babysitters document incidents such as falls, bumps or behavior concerns with a severity level, notes and photos. Parents are notified and acknowledge the report in their app, creating a dated record.

Why written incident reports matter

Small accidents happen in every childcare job. Telling the parent at pickup is good; writing it down as it happens is better. A written record with the time, what happened and the first aid you gave protects the child, the family and you.

What to include

  • When and where it happened
  • What happened, in plain facts
  • Any injury and the first aid given
  • How the child was afterwards
  • Photos where appropriate

In an emergency, call your local emergency number first and contact the parents directly. Document afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Can a nanny mark an incident as acknowledged?

No. Only a parent connected to the child can acknowledge an incident report, so the acknowledgement genuinely shows the parent has seen it.
